Day One

My friend Alex keeps telling me about this huge area he’s been excavating for a while. Apparently, he’s spent hours just digging this one area because he’s convinced he’ll eventually hit diamond. He has told me that if I help him mine, he’ll split anything we find with me. Really, I haven’t been up to much, and I’m always willing to get more resources. I’ve never had a diamond pickaxe, either, so maybe this could be my chance to get one. I already have a nice iron pickaxe, but who wouldn’t want a nice, shiny, diamond pickaxe?
I already went to check out his work, and it actually does seem really promising. He’s found a series of caves, and I can’t help but wonder where these caves lead. Maybe he’s stumbled upon our next adventure. Who knows? I’m really curious about what’s going to be down there, so I’ve decided to bring this journal to record whatever I find. So, welcome to the fun, pal, since we’re going on an adventure. It’ll be a while until we hit diamond, anyway, so might as well find a way to kill the time!

Day Two

Well, today hasn’t been the best by any means. I’ve spent the entire day making temporary housing. After all, a guy has to have somewhere to sleep, right? But I used the last of my wool crafting a bed! And we haven’t even found anything cool in the mine yet! I think this may be a waste of time, but who knows. It’ll take a while to actually find anything, so I shouldn’t get bent out of shape yet. I’m hoping there’s a sheep in the mine somewhere, though. Is it unlikely? Yeah, it is. But hey, it would still be nice! Then I could make all the beds I wanted!
Really though, this mine is nice. Right now, the mine is just one, giant pit, surrounded by nothing but stone and dirt, with tunnels leading to caves that are likely filled with adventures of their own. Soon, we’ll have a giant mineshaft to take us down further, and those tunnels and caves will be explored for everything they’re worth. It’ll be great! Well, unless we get nothing. But let’s be optimistic! I think I’m going to go to bed now, but I’ll be sure to take my journal when we start mining tomorrow! After all, what fun would the “Diary of Dylan”, as I’m calling it, be if it didn’t come mining with us?

Day Three

Alex and I have done nothing but mine today. And we didn’t even find anything! Great. Hopefully I’ll have some real adventures for you tomorrow! We did find another cave, so that’s pretty cool, and I think we’re going to explore tomorrow. I’ll let you know what we find in the cave, don’t worry!

Day Four

So, it turns out this cave is bigger than we expected. Who knew? Alex and I are going to camp out here for the night. It’s a lot larger than we expected. We’ve actually found quite a few creepers in here, too. I mean, they’ve managed to go off without destroying anything we’ve made - or us. It’s just a bit odd because of how many creepers we’ve found, you know? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not new to mining or exploring or anything like that. It’s just that I’ve never seen this many at once. We’ve got armor, though, so it isn’t too big of a deal.
Besides, if we start to have any problems, we already agreed to abandon the cave and seek help. It may be a spawn point, and others may know more than we do. We’ve got enough resources to last the next few days, and combined with our weapons and armor we should be fine for the next few days. Still, we don’t want any trouble. I would appreciate it if I wasn’t blown up! Tomorrow we’ll check out the area some more.
Right now, though, we’ve set up a base pretty deep into the cave. Our base is entirely made of stone we’ve mined so that we could blend in. We don’t have a doorway on the place, either, since we don’t want the creepers to find us while we sleep. There are other monsters in this cave I’m sure we should be worried about, and I don’t want to call myself paranoid by any means but I can’t help but want to be cautious. We don’t have beds, but I don’t mind sleeping on the stone floor. It may be cold and uncomfortable, but it sure is better than letting those monsters get to me. We really need to find where they’re all coming from. There shouldn’t be nearly this many, and I hope we get to the bottom of it by tomorrow.

Day Five

It is nighttime again. I am not writing from that cave. I am not even writing from our mine. No, I am writing from a nearby village. We were ambushed by even more creepers while we slept, and Alex and I just barely fled the mine to save ourselves. The cave was left destroyed by the constant explosions, and the mine has been overtaken by creepers. We cannot continue to work if they remain, but no one knows why they are suddenly there. This village is not in much better condition, either. Several houses have been severely damaged in creeper attacks. It looks as though the village has been bombed, as though the village has suffered tremendously, yet it is the result of senseless creeper attacks.
I have spoken to several villagers, yet none of them know why there is the sudden increase in creepers. Apparently, there is an increase in creepers throughout the entire area. It is not just in that cave; creepers are suddenly popping up everywhere. They’re attacking villages left and right, and these villages are left looking as though they have been victims of war. Cemeteries are growing, unfortunately, and no one knows how to put a stop to it. Villagers are relocating because of the danger, yet so many are left here, and it’s so sad to see the villagers trapped in this horrible situation. I actually spoke to Alex about what our next move would be, and you’ll never believe this. He doesn’t even want to continue mining!
“Don’t you realize how dangerous this is going to be now?” he had told me.
“I do realize! But we have to help the villagers if they’re being attacked, too!” I tried my hardest to talk some sense into him, but he doesn’t think the effort is worth it.
“Don’t you realize what’s at stake? We could lose it all to these creepers. Be realistic, Dylan. We may never get to the end of this. If anything, us exploring could make it worse! Do you really want that to happen?” Alex had said. But, I wasn’t giving up there.
“This village has been losing members because of these creepers! Think of all of the surrounding villages that have lost members! Do you really want to sit back and let them die? I’m certain they’re all coming from that cave! I haven’t seen more in my entire life!”
“We’re just players!” he yelled at me.
“And that means we can do something!”
Alex wasn’t having any of it. I think I’m going to leave during the night and return to that cave. I want to make a difference. I want to help these villagers. I want to put an end to the constant creeper threats. It could cost me my life, sure, but if I actually succeeded think of all the lives I could save! Besides, I have never been more furious than I was when speaking to Alex. If anything, I need to put an end to these creepers to show Alex it’s possible to put your mind to something and to actually do it!

Day Six

I did it. I picked up the best armor I could find and I restocked my resources. I used a bow to shoot the creepers that were wandering about the mine and fought my way back to the cave. It’s easy once you get the hang of it; if you hit one quickly with your sword, you can then back up and they won’t explode. It’s challenging if there’s a lot, but it’s easy if it’s just one. I haven’t seen any creepers in quite a while, actually. I think that means this is safe place to build a campsite. I need to fortify my temporary base quite well; I don’t want to be ambushed yet again. It should be okay, though. For now, at least, it should be okay.

Day Seven

Today has actually been rather uneventful. I have yet to see any creepers. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise. Who knows, maybe the creepers
