  Prologue

  Addy

  Five Years Ago

Adeline Prescott strolled up the drive to her father’s house with the confidence of the fully grown woman that she finally was. She was really looking forward to this summer vacation and had a feeling it just might change the course of her life.

She hadn’t been home in over a year. Addy had found a job to earn extra cash and hadn’t wanted to take time off during the breaks as that was the time she could get more hours and therefore more money to save. She was determined to pay for a spring break vacation in a tropical location the next year, as she’d be twenty-one and able to fully enjoy the experience. If she was being completely honest, after that first semester at school–and that damned class–she’d been too much of a wreck to come home anyway. She wasn’t going to think of that right now though. She had better things to think of this summer.

Opening the door to her father’s house, she prepared herself to start her campaign, but upon quick inspection she discovered the house seemingly deserted.

“Dad! I’m here!” she shouted as she set her luggage to the side of the foyer and headed toward the living room. Finding it empty, she began her search, starting by going out to the gardens. She knew her dad and Tobias loved to spend time out there.

As she thought of his name Addy got that feeling in her stomach, the fluttery one that always took over when she knew she’d see Tobias Chambers. She had called him Uncle Tobias when she was growing up but hadn’t been able to call him that for about five years. She didn’t see him as an uncle anymore. Now, she saw Tobias as her future.

Addy had known since she was fifteen that Tobias was the love of her life. She hadn’t doubted it for a minute, but she’d known she was too young to do anything about it then. Now… now it was a different story. She was fully grown, and she was determined to grab his attention in a whole new way this summer.

Opening the back door and walking around the inground pool, she made her way to the English-style garden her father had planted when he’d bought the home. It was massive now, with sprawling beds of flowers and cobblestone paths that allowed guests to stroll and admire the many blooms of varying colors.

She headed to the center of the garden where a fountain surrounded by benches took center stage. That was her father’s favorite spot.

“Dad, are you out here?” She called.

“By the fountain, sweetheart,” he responded, and she saw him rising from his place on the bench.

Sure enough, Tobias stood next to him, waiting for her. She took the opportunity to scan Tobias’s tall, muscular frame, letting her gaze roam slowly from his slim waist up to his incredibly handsome face. Her heart skipped a beat and her steps faltered as she laid eyes on him for the first time after so long away.

She finally reached her father and accepted his enthusiastic and slightly too-tight hug with grace.

“I’ve missed you, pumpkin.” The slight tightening of his grip almost stole her breath, but he quickly released her. “Look at you! You’ve grown since you left. How did that happen?”

“I’ve missed you too, Dad.” It hadn’t escaped her notice that Tobias had remained silent, mouth slightly open. It also hadn’t escaped her notice that his eyes had followed her every move since he’d set them on her.

Oh, Tobias. It’s okay. I have been yours for years, it’s about time you finally noticed.

This was going to be an excellent summer.

  Tobias

Tobias knew he was in trouble as soon as he’d seen Addy approach. She’d blossomed in the year she’d been away. For the first time, it hit Tobias that she was a grown woman now. It had hit him like a ton of bricks, knocking the breath out of him and stealing his power of speech.

She had curves that shouldn’t be making him drool, her pouty lips shouldn’t be invoking fantasies of how she would taste, and he should definitely not be wondering how she’d respond if he nipped that full bottom lip. Her hair had grown and her legs, well, he couldn’t even think about those. The images those legs inspired in his mind were causing a very inappropriate response in his pants.

Recovering his ability to speak, Tobias made excuses and headed out. He couldn’t stick around with her looking like that. In fact, he needed to avoid being in her presence until he could get his mind and body under control and remember he was like an uncle to her. Tobias resolved to keep far away this summer.

  Fucking hell.

Tobias watched as Addy emerged from the pool in a yellow bikini that made her tanned skin glow. Water sluiced down her body and her breasts pressed forward, barely contained in that tiny top that almost kept her decent for the public as she lifted her wet hair off her neck and twisted the water out of it.

He’d known he shouldn’t have come. He’d managed to avoid her all summer, only catching the occasional glimpse when he had to be there for work. He’d even managed to keep away from her when she’d decided to work at her father’s company for the summer. She’d been in the mail room so it hadn’t been hard to keep his distance.

When Brett had invited and then cajoled him into coming to this farewell pool party, Tobias knew he’d made a huge mistake in agreeing. While he’d managed to avoid Addy in person, his mind seemed determined to keep his thoughts focused on her. She’d starred in several fantasies as he’d taken himself in hand, and he had shouted her name more times than he was willing to admit as he’d come to images of her. The guilt of that was eating at him and he wasn’t sure what he should do. Right then, though, he knew he needed to hightail it out of there because Adeline Prescott in that tiny bikini was something he absolutely couldn’t handle.

  Addy

She watched Tobias rise from his seat and head toward his car. Her last chance this summer to get him to claim her had passed her by. That was okay, she’d have multiple opportunities to catch his attention. She was confident one day she’d wear him down. She was patient and persistent. She could wait.

With that in mind, she focused back on her guests and the party. She was going to enjoy her last day at home.

  Chapter One

  Addy

  Present Day

Addy stood at the door, unable to venture further until the paperwork she’d just submitted was processed. Seeing the sight before her made her think that was probably a good thing. She watched through the little window on the door as the man she’d been in love with for ten years rocked a Little–who wasn’t her–in a rocking chair as he fed her from an oversized bottle. Though it hurt Addy’s heart to see him with someone else, she knew it was a temporary thing. She couldn’t really judge him when she’d done the same.

Addy had been with multiple Daddies over the years. None of them had lasted and the reason for that was just beyond that doorway, rocking a pretty blonde Little in a pale pink romper, who had finished her bottle and was now cuddling a pink rabbit and sucking on a pink pacifier.

Addy noticed that everything about the Little girl in his arms was as different from herself as was possible. Addy’s coal black hair couldn’t even be bleached to that shade of blond. Addy’s boobs were never going to be as small as the mysterious girl’s. The Little’s blue eyes were so much more alluring than Addy’s muddy brown ones. Addy could go on a million diets and never be as thin as the girl in Tobias’s lap.

For a moment, Addy thought about giving up her crazy scheme. Then she remembered every bad relationship and the reason they’d all failed. Addy knew it was time to woman up and go after what she wanted, and what she wanted was Tobias. It didn’t matter that he was twice her age, or that he was her father’s best friend and most trusted employee. All that truly mattered was that she was in love
with him and had been for years.

After her failed attempt to get his attention during her first summer home from college, Addy had put herself in Tobias’ path as often as possible only for him to walk away each time. There were only so many times a girl could take being ignored before she gave up. She’d finally had to admit he obviously hadn’t felt for her what she’d felt for him.

Addy had tried to forget him after that, telling herself he was off limits. She spent every day at work in her dad’s cyber security company trying to avoid Tobias. She’d dated other men since that summer, but that had always ended in disaster. Hell, she’d even considered moving but hadn’t been able to bring herself to take such a drastic measure.

Still, no matter what she did she couldn’t stop thinking about him, imagining a life where he saw her as more than his best friend’s daughter. She wanted a life where Tobias saw her as his. Addy wanted Tobias to want her in the same way she craved him. But then she found out Tobias was a Daddy Dom, though, all bets were off.

She blessed the day she’d been sent to deliver some paperwork to him while his secretary was at lunch. Although she hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, she couldn’t help hearing him talk about finding a Little to care for that night at Little Hearts Club.

And now, here she stood in Little Hearts Club, the premiere club for Littles, Middles and the Mommies and Daddies who loved them. It seemed to live up to the hype from what she’d seen during the tour she’d gotten before operating hours. Beyond the rather plain and dark foyer with its check-in desk by the closed door Addy was standing at, a communal playroom was arranged with mats to play on, rockers, adult sized cribs, and the shelves lining every wall held toys and games galore. Everything a Little heart could want and enough space for all the Littles to play together.

Private rooms and nurseries boasted themes. There were a few nurseries with different color schemes and themes ranging from rainbows to circuses. There were game rooms, both for video gaming and board games for smaller groups of Littles to play in a more intimate setting. Another room resembling an office break room held snacks, sodas and juice boxes as well as formulas and protein mixes for bottles. All of it was included in the cost of membership.

She’d submitted all the paperwork, her health evaluation papers, her background check information, club references, the whole nine yards. Little Hearts Club was very thorough in their vetting. In two days, everything would be in order and she’d officially be able to enter. She was about to show Tobias she was exactly what he needed. Only two more days.

Addy played it as cool as she could over the next two days at work. She didn’t want to let on about her plan to anyone, especially Tobias. She’d need the element of surprise. She couldn’t help walking by his office a few times, trying to catch a glimpse of him through the windows. She’d known him all her life, had admired his dedication, found pride in his capacity to be kind to everyone. He was smart and driven, kind and generous, with a dominant nature and a sexy-as-sin exterior. He was the whole package and Addy figured no one would be able to blame her for wanting to make him hers.

Still, she kept her head down and tried not to draw attention to herself as she daydreamed while answering emails, planned her wardrobe while filling out and filing paperwork, and walked with an extra pep in her step as she consulted with the cyber security teams about their pitches to potential new clients.

Addy found her mind wandering consistently over the two days she had to wait, but her constant obsessing over her pending trip to Little Hearts Club left her with a confidence she hadn’t felt since that fateful summer when she’d been twenty. Addy had a newfound determination to make this time turn out very differently. By the time she was cleared to go, Addy had solidified her resolve and hardened her determination to break down his walls. Tobias had no idea what was coming for him. She couldn’t wait.

  Tobias

Tobias Chambers rocked Belinda until the Little fell asleep in his lap, then picked her up and placed her in one of the cribs. An attendant would wake her if she slept too long. He’d already discussed with her that he wasn’t staying late that night and would likely be gone when she woke. So, there was no worry of her missing his presence.

Tobias found some comfort in soothing the Littles at Little Hearts Club and often came here because he needed the release. The regular Littles knew he’d never be their full-time Daddy, but he loved to play with them, cuddle them and give them what they needed in the club. Hell, he needed it as much as they did. What he never did, and didn’t think he’d ever be able to do was sleep with them.

Tobias had accepted long ago that he would never have a Little all his own. His soulmate was off limits. No matter how many times he’d tried to be with someone else, from the time Addy had returned from college at twenty to spend the summer with her father, he’d been completely unable to think of a life with anyone else.

She had blown in wearing a purple mini sundress, captivating him with her wavy black hair blowing in the breeze. She’d entranced him with those deep brown eyes that seemed to see so much more of him than he’d ever wanted anyone to see. Those curves of hers that he longed to get his hands on had completely ruined him for anyone else.

Even thinking about Addy made him hard as a rock, something that seemed to only happen around her lately. She was his best friend’s daughter. He’d seen her grow up, bounced her on his knee as a toddler, been to her Sweet Sixteen. And yet, none of that had prepared him for the tsunami of lust that took him over that fateful college break. It had been five years and he still couldn’t shake his need for her.

He consistently - and purposefully - chose to care for women who were exact opposites of Addy, hoping to forget her for a short time. Spoiler alert: it never worked. As soon as he was done for the night, Addy was right back in his mind. Hell, sometimes he imagined it was Addy he was taking care of instead of the Little in his care. Maybe it made him a shit person, but his mind and heart just wouldn’t let her go.

With a heavy heart, Tobias headed for the exit of the club, wanting nothing more than to get home and get some sleep. Sleep that was most likely to include dreams of the one woman in the world he could never have.

“Off so soon?” Damon asked as he walked by.

Damon was a regular Daddy there at Little Hearts Club. Everyone knew he came nightly, hoping Belinda would finally notice him. What he didn’t see was that Belinda had already noticed him. With a stockier build, light brown skin, his black hair with graying temples, and his ever-present tailored suit he looked like an Italian mafia boss. He was really a broker, but people’s imaginations painted him as some sinfully sexy bad boy. Which was why Belinda avoided him. She’d once been broken by a bad boy, and she was known to listen to rumors. So, Damon showed up every night, and Belinda avoided him every night, forcing him to sit back and watch her put herself in other people’s care. Tobias idly wondered who would break first, but let those thoughts go.

“I’m headed home for some sleep. Six o’clock comes early in the morning.” It wasn’t really a lie; but it wasn’t the whole truth. He just couldn’t force himself to stay there that night when his dream girl wasn’t around.

Tobias couldn’t help his need to check in on Addy every couple of hours. He told himself he was just keeping an eye on his best friend’s daughter, but at night, when he was alone, he’d admit the truth to himself. He had to see her. He couldn’t imagine going a day without laying eyes on her.

Tobias was always discreet about his vigil, casually strolling past her office windows and sneaking a peek, making up excuses to meet with the coding specialist whose office was across from hers. He tried his best not to make it too obvious what he was doing, he didn’t want to have to explain things should anyone notice. What would he even say? “Oh, that. It’s nothing. I just take every chance I get to ogle the daughter of my best friend. The woman I want to strip naked and defile in ways that would make your brain melt.” Yeah, that would go over just fantastic.
