Wayward Paths and Golden Handcuffs
S.J. Thomason
A college football player finds himself embroiled in a battle against fate and his own shortcomings as he strives to convince his doubting mom of the truths behind Christianity. Will he be successful?Being a CEO’s son in the top one percent of income earners certainly has its perks, yet such diversions fail to impress Nick. Success to Nick is defined instead by helping those less fortunate and embracing Christianity. Success to his mom is defined differently, through a passion for work, a capitalization on assets, and a drive to accumulate wealth. Convincing his successful mother to follow Jesus' example is nearly impossible, though, since she feels that Jesus is only a myth, immortalized to control the masses. Then fate steps in and Nick finds himself clashing with the obstacles of alcohol, abundance, and adultery as he strives to outrun time and alter fate to present a compelling argument in support of Jesus to the mother he loves.

Eyes on the Unseen Prize
S.J. Thomason
Set in the mountains of Colorado and beaches of Florida, this contemporary romance is about a woman who encounters a series of transforming spiritual experiences, chance events, and dreams, which help to strengthen her faith in Christianity. She and her boyfriend set out to spread the good news, yet are often challenged by atheists, the complacent, and their own demons. Will they overcome?Piper McCoy has a special gift, which is the ability to see what others can’t. Sometimes she sees dark spirits from below, while other times she sees visions from above. Hellish nightmares and heavenly dreams further give her a glimpse into the spiritual warfare that has been waged between God’s Angel Army and Satan’s demons on the earth. She knows that her special abilities will help her to achieve her calling, which is to spread the good news of Christianity to all who will listen. And that’s important, because some of her friends and family members don’t believe. She uses her abilities to prioritize the targets of her evangelistic messages, yet keeps her abilities a secret. No one would believe her if she told them. Her family proved that. More than anything, Piper wants to marry Nick. After three years of dating, she feels it’s time to take the relationship to the next level, yet Nick doesn’t seem to be in any hurry, though he says he loves her. Approaching her mid-twenties with the desire to have a large family, Piper wants to change that. She fears, however, that his promise to forego drinking if they ever married is hindering his decision. He enjoys drinking too much. She also fears that her own flaws have been exposed to her almost perfect boyfriend. Nick's faith and strong character serve as an inspiration to Piper, who grows in her own faith and character. Over the years, she observes several instances in which the faith of her friends is tested, yet when her own faith is tested she crumbles and turns away from God. The test is too much for her to endure.

When a tornado hits Chadwick Farm, leaving her father dead and the farm in ruins, Abigail begins to examine her options. Little money, a ton of repairs and an extra orphan to care for. The future looks rather bleak - until Sam shows up. Sam and Abby had met when Sam was working for a traveling salesman. There was an instant attraction, but neither one realized that there could be more. Sam was drawn to Chadwick Farm, despite its storm-ravaged appearance. He was even more impressed with Abby and her strong sense of family pride. Sam needed to belong somewhere, to allow him an opportunity to work through his troubles. That place was Chadwick Farm, alongside Abby and the orphans. A bond is formed between Abby and Sam, one that is tested when Sam faces his past. Add trouble with the orphans and the two must determine whether their love is real and will endure. Ms. Thomason has done an excellent job of bringing 1892 to life! She treats readers to a historical trip packed with all the realities of life - loss, love and family. Although more 'sweet' than sensual, Homespun Hearts is an earthy read. It focuses on home and hearth. Lots of warm fuzzy feelings in this one. The variety of characters adds to the down-home appeal. Amy Wilson -- Copyright © 1999 Literary Times, Inc. Dustin Thomason
From the co-author of the two-million copy mega-bestseller The Rule of Four comes a riveting thriller with a brilliant premise based on the 2012 apocalypse phenomenon—perfect for readers of Steve Berry, Preston and Child, and Dan Brown. For decades, December 21, 2012, has been a touchstone for doomsayers worldwide. It is the date, they claim, when the ancient Maya calendar predicts the world will end.In Los Angeles, two weeks before, all is calm. Dr. Gabriel Stanton takes his usual morning bike ride, drops off the dog with his ex-wife, and heads to the lab where he studies incurable prion diseases for the CDC. And Chel, the brightest young star in the field of Maya studies, has possession of an illegal artifact that has miraculously survived the centuries intact: a priceless codex from a lost city of her ancestors. This extraordinary record, written in secret by a royal scribe, seems to hold the answer to her life’s work and to one of history’s great riddles: why the Maya kingdoms vanished overnight.
