A Conversation Overheard
Jeffrey Miller
Nonfiction / Business / Management
Being the opening chapters of volume one of the first of The Five Books of TimeThere are some things that are known by everyone within The World, and many things which are unknown. Everyone knows that one-thousand years ago there was The War That Broke Time. The Immortals tried to exterminate the mortals by releasing dragons into The World who only knew one thing – hunger. The horror of their actions finally caused the Immortals to completely withdraw from The World into their Whitestone walled cities. The mortals found some - The Dragonslayers, who could heal themselves as fast as The Dragons could burn their bodies, who slowly saved The World. And the mortals then destroyed the one whom had started The War … The Goddess of Life. For one-thousand years, seven of The Dragonslayers have kept the unchanging peace as The Nightlords of The Seven Kingdoms. Only the Nightlords know how to light the raw Globes which come from The Five Empires. It is only the heat and light of The Globes which allows men to survive the frozen darkness of winter. Life in The World is hard, and men's lives are short. But The Nightlord gave his Binding that those who obeyed his Code of The Covenant would bring forth one who would Reunite The World with all that is missing from it in The Underworld. And in The Reuniting of The World and The Underworld, The Lord Binding will bring all that exists to the timeless, unitary perfection of The Union of All Things. The existence of The World and The Underworld, and all that is within ... will End.

'A Conversation of Inconclusive Results'
Brad Oh
This is the story of a group of college kids out to have fun. As perhaps some readers of Brad OH Inc. can relate to, they end up imbibing heavily, and their discussion begins to steer towards some very metaphysical topics. Will the slobbering-drunk Ethan find the answers he’s looking for from his friends? Or will the conversation only lead him down a path lacking in intellectual succor entirely? In the year 2833, two friends Tyren and Reda set out to discover new worlds in the universe. They reach Planet Ziplo and get to explore the planet with the Mintrones that inhabit it. The Mintrones welcome Tyren and Reda and they have a great time together. All if well till a cataclysmic event occurs. The dark and evil Zonetrones want to get a hold of the power cube on planet Ziplo in the hope of increasing their own powers. This leads to an attack of planet Ziplo by the Zonetrones. The Mintrones fight the dark Zonetrones with the help of Tyren and Reda. To find out how this story unravels, read our book – THE DAY THE WORLDS MET. A Note from the Author This book was written to put into words the adventures of the Mintrones as my son imagined them. So it’s an effort of a mom to document her son’s thoughts. I have tried my best to bring his ideas alive here. The website www.mintrones.com offers a range of creature toys based on the characters in this book. This whole process of creating our company started when my son who is seven years old came to us and told us that he would love to create his own toys. He drew some sketches of the creatures that inhabited an alien world called Planet Ziplo. He imagined their abilities, their world and their adventures. We decided to go for it and create a range of toys based on his thoughts. In this process, he got to work with artists, prototype designers and even the manufacturer to some extent in the design of the toys. It was an awesome experience for a little guy to take what was an idea and see a tangible product come from it. We had a lot of fun in this process as well. We thought it would nice to give every child the same opportunity to be creative and enjoy being a part of an experience like this. From this was born the “Create Your Own Mintrone” Contest. Your child can enter a design of a mintrone into our contest. The entries get voted upon and the winners get to be our next great toy designers. They also get paid royalty every time a toy of their design is sold to help fund their college! We are out to impact the lives of our children in a positive way. So go ahead and be part of this journey. We hope you have a blast doing it!

A Long Conversation (The Shadowhunter Chronicles)
Cassandra Clare

The hard-fighting, harder-drinking fortune hunters of The Hammer and the Blade and A Discourse in Steel are back to test their mettle and tempt fickle fate. Fantasy fiction has long welcomed adventurous rogues: Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, George R. R. Martin's Dunk and Egg, and Scott Lynch's Locke Lamora and Jean Tannen have all made their mark. In his Egil & Nix series, New York Times bestselling author Paul S. A Conversation with the Mann
John Ridley
What do you want?"I want the Ed Sullivan Show."At the dawn of the Civil Rights Movement, like a lot of black Americans, comedian Jackie Mann wanted to be somebody. And for him there was only one way to achieve that: to make it big. Make it, no matter the cost: friends, family, one's own self-esteem and self-respect. This is the story of a young man's journey from Harlem to stardom, a story of Hollywood royalty, New York glitterati, Vegas Mafiosi, Northern bigotry, and Southern racism. This is a story of love, honor, betrayal, and redemption; of fame bought and paid for by any means necessary. It is the story of one man's desire and an entire race's demands, and the incredible moment when the two came together as one. This is the story of Jackie Mann.
